The "Resetting Ghana Tour" is designed to help the President, John Dramani Mahama, assess ongoing critical infrastructure projects, strengthen public trust through direct engagement to gather feedback on government policies being rolled out, and commission new development initiatives.
President Mahama officially launched his nationwide tour on Thursday, March 18, 2026, with the sod-cutting of a 24-hour Model market and the inspection of the 80km Jinijini-Sampa road, a major highway expected to boost trade and economic development in commercial towns along the route.
"The purpose of my visits is to listen firsthand to the concerns of the people... to afford me the opportunity to interact with you and address your concerns," the President said in his address, outlining his administration's commitment to transparency and inclusive growth.

At Dormaa Ahenkro, where he cut sod for the construction of a 24-hour model market, President Mahama announced that the facility will be equipped with modern stalls, warehouses, cold storage facilities, daycare centres, Fire and Police Stations, transport hubs, as well as banking services—including a Women Development Bank—to support round-the-clock trading.
He described the initiative as a "national reset" and a bold strategic shift to unlock the country's full productive potential.
The tour also afforded the President the opportunity to inspect construction works on the 34km Sunyani Outer Ring Road, a critical project expected to ease traffic congestion, as well as GETFund-supported projects, including new science laboratories, classroom blocks, and staff bungalows.
The climax of the tour was a massive Citizens Engagement at the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UNER) auditorium. The President of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs and Omanhene of the Dormaa Traditional Area, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu II, joined traders, farmers, and religious groups for a direct feedback session.
"Quality road infrastructure remains a key driver of economic transformation, boosting trade, easing transportation, and connecting communities to new opportunities," President Mahama noted. "Ghana will have the best roads in West Africa in the next two years."
Dormaahene Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu II lauded the President for his honesty, major economic gains, and infrastructure development, urging him to set high standards to serve as a benchmark for future leaders.
